Larry Goldstein came to Panorama from The Board Whisperers, a consulting group dedicated to aligning non-profit organizations with their mission and vision.  He provides executive coaching, board development, fund development plans, diversity training, ’Giving and Receiving Feedback’ workshops and has led organizations through their strategic planning process. Previously, Larry served as the Director of Development at Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville, VA. Before that he had a successful career as an educator, performing artist and therapist.

Larry brings a profound respect for group process, communication, and active listening to his work with non-profits. Organizations that he has served include the Federal Executive Institute, Charlottesville Opera, UVA’s Department of Engineering and Society, Dupont Corporation, University of Virginia Hospital and Medical School, Virginia’s LCSW Association, The Smithsonian Institute, PACEM (serving people experiencing homelessness), and many independent schools and arts organizations. Larry’s theater background includes directing over sixty shows, being a co-founder of Live Arts Theatre in Charlottesville and, in 2015, starting Playback Theatre Virginia, a company that combines storytelling and improv to create dynamic theatre that enacts true stories from the audience. Playback has been used in corporate settings and, besides its entertainment value, is an outstanding tool for community building.

Larry has master's degrees in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University and Theater from The University of Virginia. He trained extensively in Sociometry (The study of Interpersonal Relations in Groups) and Group Psychotherapy. From 2012 to 2016, he was a co-trainer at The Therapeutic Spiral Institute. During the pandemic, Larry raised funds for, produced and wrote all twelve episodes of a two season web series about an Assisted Living Facility, "Serenity Hill in the Pandemic”.
